Start a blog they said, it'll be fun and easy to keep up with haha nope not quite. So I apologize for lack of a regular update and hope this will get the ball rolling for me.
In the past few weeks I've had a couple of newborn photo shoots, a birthday party for my daughter who just turned 4, and a shoot with a beautiful cake (yes a cake, it was truly a work of art). Let's start with the newborn shoots...
First there was the beautiful baby Quinn who was nearly 2 weeks old for our shoot. The room we did our shoot had a very large north facing window and we had some great early evening indirect light filling the area we were shooting, so therefore I did something I rarely do and shot most of these photos with just natural light. I'm normally never lucky enough to have such great natural light conditions so this was a treat for me.
Eyelashes, I'm a sucker for baby eyelashes and it's the main reason I always bring my 90mm macro lens.
We even managed to get a few shots of her older brother, Jack, at the end of the shoot. By this time, the last 15 minutes of the shoot, I did pull out 1 speedlight and an umbrella and use it for a little fill as the natural light was beginning to fade. Jack was full of character and I did my best to open him up (I'm pretty sure we were talking about Jake and the Neverland Pirates here):
Stay tuned for some highlights from my other recent newborn shoot with the adorably awesome baby Aidan.
