Montauk holds a special place in the hearts of Joanna and Shane and they wanted it to be a part of their engagement session. Personally, Montauk holds a special place in my heart as well being the place I proposed to my wife, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to head down to the South Fork and create some special images for an awesome couple. We started our day at the most symbolic spot, the Montauk Point Lighthouse, where we hiked around the rocks and then headed down to the surrounding beach. After that we went into the village in search of a Dan's Papers stand... Joanna and Shane love Dan's Papers, so we definitely wanted to find an issue to include in the shoot (and that they could bring home with them). On our way to find the paper we had to be tourists for a few minutes and stop in front of the famous Memory Motel for a few photos. Once we found our issue I had them look through it in front of their favorite breakfast establishment, John's Pancake House, before wrapping up our shoot at the Montauk LIRR station. All in all it was a truly special shoot for all involved. Stay tuned for photos from their East Wind wedding coming up soon!
]]>I met up with Kristin and Ed on a quiet evening in Greenport to hang out and create some photos to celebrate their engagement. We started out at Mitchell Park before heading into the carousel (a must see for anyone visiting Greenport), then headed on over to Greenport Brewing Co. followed by the Scrimshaw to wrap up the evening. Stay tuned for photos from their East Wind wedding coming soon.
]]>A little about Sugar Lane Cake Shop, taken right from their website:
"Sugar Lane Cake Shop specializes in custom cakes and sugar flowers for weddings and all other special occasions. We pride ourselves on using only local, organic, farm fresh ingredients from Long Island's east end farms. For the ingredients that are not produced locally, such as sugar and flour, we make sure to only use the finest organic products!
At Sugar Lane we only create cakes that taste as good as they look. To us that means not using stiff, tasteless fondant on the outside of our cakes. Instead we smooth buttercream to create a facade that has the same smooth appeal as fondant. If a more rustic, textured cake is ideal then buttercream allows us the freedom to do that as well!
Of course the delightful taste of our cakes does not stop at the buttercream, our cakes are delicious all the way through! The use of farm fresh organic ingredients results in the most fresh, flavorful cakes possible. From homemade fresh berry compotes to cage-free organic eggs, our cakes are the epitome of fresh and flavorful!
And the best part, our cakes have the option of being vegan and gluten free!"
I can personally attest to the fact that these cakes taste as good, if not better, than they look as I have been lucky enough to try some of their work myself... it is truly delicious.

]]>Kristina and Thomas has a fun filled wedding day that they planned in their own way. The day started with a late morning ceremony at St. Phillip and James RC Church in St. James before heading down to Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue for an afternoon reception. Their reception ended in the early evening and was followed by an after party with their friends at Off Key Tiki in Patchogue where they partied late into the night... definitely a fun wedding day.
]]>Marcia and Joe eloped in New Hampshire but wanted some local, North Fork, wedding photos to share with their family and friends. We decided on Horton Point Lighthouse as our backdrop and met up there one morning, I arrived in my car while Joe and Marcia arrived by motorcycle... something I needed to take advantage of at the end of the shoot.

]]>I met up with Nicole and Kevin one late spring morning to celebrate their engagement with some photos at Harbes Farm and Winery in Mattituck, NY.
]]>This wedding was a last minute favor for a friend who had agreed to photograph her old friend's wedding but wasn't exactly well versed on reception photography (she did a knockout job on everything else from what I have seen and is an amazingly talented artist on soooo many different mediums, honestly I wish I had the talent that she has in just one of her pinkies). I decided to lend my hand for the reception and ended up having a ball with some amazing people.

I travelled up to Middletown, CT on a beautiful July day to capture Amanda and Chris's wedding at the awesome Pavilion on Crystal Lake. I immediately hit it off with Chris once we realized we both love and play ice hockey (see his cuff link and also their entrance tunnel with mini hockey sticks). This was one of those days that went better than you could have planned, everyone had such a great time and by the end nobody wanted to stop (even after an impromptu dip into the lake by the bride and groom).
]]>I met up with Amanda and Robbie on a beautiful summer morning on the North Fork to capture some special moments that celebrated their engagement. I met Robbie through friends and our mutual love for all things Volkswagen and had previously photographed his other love, his bagged mkV .:R32 (more on this car later). We started our day at a small private farm and then stopped at Laurel Lake Vineyards before ending in Riverhead at an old potato barn that had been repurposed as an auto garage for a movie that was filmed in the area some years ago.
About that Volkswagen.... well, Robbie has poured a lot of work into making it what it is and they wanted it to be included in some photos (also, a good friend named Swoops did a lot of the custom air ride work including the hand made hardlines, so they wanted at least one shot that included the air tank with his logo).
And what would a Volkswagen shoot be without reenacting a notorious break down? Don't worry it was just staged, no CEL here (that I know of at least haha).
I am very proud to announce I will be returning to Martha Clara Vineyards as their "Artist in Residence" for the month of September. We will be holding a "Meet the Artist" reception on Sunday September 3rd, 2017 from 2pm - 5pm in their tasting Pavilion. I will have a selection of my local North Fork landscapes on display and available for purchase throughout the month of September. All ages are welcome and admission is free to all so please come down and say hi.
